Live with consciousness, (sabantha) to sow happiness around

Just imagine, you are reading this article and somebody is knocking at your front door. You open and the person says “am Krishna.” You look at the modern dressed man and ask “who Krishan?” He says “same Krishna you pray everyday. I thought let me stay with you for a week for all 24 hours. Don’t worry, nobody will be able to see or hear me except you. I just wanted to see how you lead your life. That’s it. But remember, I will be visible to you all the time and you can never introduce yourself to anybody.” You let him come in and your wife is not able to. She is behaving normally as if there is no one around.

Now you are getting ready and leaving for work. You sit in your car and you can see the other seat is already occupied. Midway, your client calls up. In the discussion, you wanted to tell him “This price is exclusively for you and I never offered this price to anyone.” But you are not able to say this, because you know that this is a lie that you say everyday to everyone. You look at Krishna and the lord winks you in his usual playful look and says with his eyes “you continue.” And suddenly you drop the price by a few hundred rupees and repeat the above line because now you know that what you are saying is true. And in that entire day, you do exactly what a good human being has to do because you are under constant watch of Krishna. You picked up your wife’s phone and didn’t say even once that “you are in a meeting,” because you were not. In fact, your wife asked you “how come suddenly there is no meeting today?” Entire day, the office people also felt the same.

In the night when you retired to bed, you got a different feeling that you are not able to describe. You justified to yourself “am not a bad man, but I generally put my interest first, like anybody, in this commercial world.” But today, felt different. behaved exactly the way your creator wanted you to behave after sending you this planet.

I remembered this WhatsApp story when my wife placed the small idol of our family deity—Balaji—in my car while I began my long car trip for work and said “be careful, and he is protecting and watching you”, although the vehicle had Ganeshji for years. It was my first trip after the March lockdown. The words “watching you” played on my mind and I was super careful in every step of my trip, from frequently washing hands to several other hygienic behaviours like covering your face with masks, which we “strictly” observe when elders are at home, but generally skip such practices not because we are careless but mostly due to oversight.

What does Conscious Living mean? It is about taking control of your life about thinking about your decisions rather than making them without thought and about having a life that we want rather than settling for the one that befalls us.

A life lived of choice is a life of conscious action. A life lived of chance is a life of unconscious creation, said Neale Donald Walsch, an American author of the series called “conversations with God.”

Funda is that if we live with consciousness that the god lives with us every moment and not just in the frames, we generally create a wonderful world around us.
